17 November was a special day at ROSSS’ facilities. On the occasion of the National Open Day, promoted by Confindustria, the CEO of ROSSS and President of Federmeccanica, Silvano “Simone” Bettini, welcomed fourth-year students from the Giotto Ulivi secondary school in Borgo San Lorenzo.

The initiative represented a concrete opportunity to bring young people closer to the manufacturing world and to explain to them what it means to “run a business” today, in a technological, productive and human context.

As highlighted in Federmeccanica’s official statement, this first edition of the Day aims to promote among students “the value of businesses, helping them understand that in every company there are people, ideas, skills, visions — and that these elements fuel progress.”

The selected topic, “Telling the story of initiative to grow open and connected businesses,” was fully embraced by Bettini, who took on the role of an exceptional “teacher”.

A company that creates value for the local community

During the meeting, Bettini told the history, values and activities that guide ROSSS’ daily work: from the design to the production of metal industrial shelving, up to continuous innovation in intralogistics solutions.

“I wanted to highlight the role that we all play — individuals as well as companies — in generating wealth which allows our country to provide essential services to all citizens,” reports La Nazione.

A the event there were also Federico Ignesti, Mayor of Scarperia and San Piero a Sieve, and Massimo Ferrati, coordinator of the Mugello Valdisieve territorial office of Confindustria Toscana Centro e Costa.

“The students were very attentive”

At the end of the visit, Bettini expressed his satisfaction with the students’ participation.

“I saw students who were very attentive, interested and engaged, despite the length of my speech. We were pleased to welcome them, telling and showing them the great amount of work behind the production of an industrial shelving,” La Nazione further reports.
A clear message, that reaffirms the social role of business and its ability to interact with the local community, schools and new generations.
