A New Vision for Federmeccanica with Silvano “Simone” Bettini
Innovation, commitment, and passion: the President and CEO of ROSSS will lead the Federation until 2029.
Florence, July 14, 2025 – When Silvano “Simone” Bettini began his professional career, the world of metalworking looked very different from the one he now finds himself leading. With a career characterised by the ability to anticipate future challenges, the current CEO of ROSSS S.p.A. has been appointed as the new President of Federmeccanica for the 2025–2029 term.
An appointment that reflects a story of determination and vision—one that began in the Tuscan hills and evolved through Italy’s manufacturing institutions. In his first official speech as President, Bettini underscored the need to invest in skills, foster open dialogue, and promote a corporate culture grounded in social and environmental responsibility — all essential to keeping the industry competitive and ready for the future.
“We will continue the work carried out in recent years, focusing on innovation and quality. Our efforts will focus on the themes that are at the heart of Federmeccanica and the soul of the industry. We will work to represent the entire metalworking and mechatronics sector at its best. We are currently facing a highly critical phase, driven by global upheavals and the resulting uncertainty, which inevitably affects our companies. The determination shown by President Ursula von der Leyen to reach an agreement with the United States is welcome — but it must be a good agreement. Good agreements are sustainable and capable of improving the overall framework. The 10% duties represent a serious and widespread worsening of conditions — highly penalising for our industry, which is already burdened by existing 25% and 50% tariffs on automotive, steel, and aluminum. These measures damage essential supply chains, such as components and automotive. That is why we must find solutions that ensure stability and certainty for businesses, so that production and investments — both of which have slowed in recent months — can regain momentum. The issue of supply chains and their value is central to Federmeccanica. That is why we have developed a new organisational model that will bring us even closer to companies and enable us to better understand their specific needs,” stated the newly appointed President, Silvano “Simone” Bettini.
ROSSS S.p.A. proudly welcomes this important appointment — not only a personal milestone, but a testament to the value and potential of Italian companies within the industry.
With Bettini at the helm, Federmeccanica enters a new chapter: a crucial four-year term marked by renewed momentum and a forward-looking, inclusive vision for Italy’s industrial future.
